DESCRIPTION: This datafile contains the chart boundaries for the 178 charts of the 1980 AAVSO (American Association of Variable Star Observers) Variable Star Atlas, prepared by Charles E. Scovil and published by Sky Publishing Corporation. This atlas is of special interest to variable star observers due to the large number of variable stars and comparison star magnitudes marked, but is use to the more general user as well.
DATA: Displayed is the chart number or numbers for the current cursor position. Multiple chart numbers are possible because of the partial overlap of the chart edges. Shown in addition to the chart numbers are the number of AAVSO program variables which appear on the back of each chart. Depending on the chart, the number of variables can vary from less than 10 to over 100. The charts and datafile cover the entire sky.
