What's new is Quad-Color imaging! In this method, you shoot three relatively short integrations through red, green, and blue tri-color filters and then shoot a fourth image with a nice long exposure using no filter. Later, in software, you combine the unfiltered image (with great signal-to-noise) with the three filtered images to create an outstanding color image. It's possible to do this using Photo$hop, or for the Cookbook camera, check out the QColor On-Line Manual to see how it's done. QColor is the successor to Color245; if you are currently a Color245 user, you can upgrade to QColor for $19.95 plus $1.00 shipping and handling. Order from Richard Berry (AstroPIX).
To my CCD friends: In early October, a momentary power loss wiped out the hard disk that was home to the Cookbook Web Page, not harming the copy on my Internet Service Provider. Most of my data was backed up, but (sigh!) not my e-mail address book! If you have been expecting to hear from me and have not, both your message and my record of your address are gone. Please send me a brief note with your current email address. --Richard
