O Oregon! Mount Jefferson is our local volcano.Silver Falls State Park is one of the many local scenic attractions. During Oregon's rainy season (Oct 15 to April 15) we enjoy a superabundance of lichens and mosses. Then comes spring and we have a lot of flowers. During the dry season (June 15 to Oct 15) the skies are clear and deep blue for weeks on end. Even in mid-winter, when it rains a lot, we have the colorful leaves of Oregon grape.

On the home front. "We" is me and Eleanor. For our 29th anniversary, we planted a tiny rose garden. Our canine buddy Bix, an Airedale mix with abundant energy, certainly had more that October day we climbed Henline Mountain to the snow line. Our house accomodates my office and writing business, and is in the country under reasonably dark skies. I shoot CCD images with my 6-inch f/5 homebuilt telescope and I write software for image processing.

Our rent-a-farm. We rent out our barn and pasture to a menagerie of one equine and four bovines. Equine Sky Chaser manages the herd, or at least he thinks he does. Burger, a Black Angus, is the mother of Katsup (1 day old) and (age 6 weeks). News Flash! Fries, Black Angus #2, bore Mustard (age 10 minutes) on June 14. Katsup helped clean up.

In Memoriam, Martin Berry (1952-1997)
