This is a wide-field chart (70 x 50 degrees) centered on Lyra.
The Veil Nebula complex.
A 41'x30' field surrounding NGC 7385, showing the data window which is displayed by clicking on the object. Note the number of "MAC" galaxies in the field (from the Mitchell Anonymous Catalog), which you won't find plotted in other charting software.
Track for Comet Hale-Bopp, at 10-day intervals. First point is plotted for July 2, 1996 at 5:00 UT.
MegaStar has 5 different night vision modes (light red, dark red, white, light gray and dark gray). The white and gray modes are used if you are putting a red filter over your screen. This image shows the light red mode.
MegaStar can show inverted and/or mirror-imaged views. This field is reversed as it would appear in a 3-mirrored Schmidt-Cassegrain system.
